Lithonia Names FDW as New City Attorney
The law firm of Fincher Denmark & Williams is pleased to announce that it has been named as the new City Attorney for the City of Lithonia. Partner Winston Denmark accepted the appointment on behalf of the firm. Lithonia becomes Fincher Denmark & Williams' sixth city client and tenth local government client. In addition to Lithonia, Fincher Denmark & Williams also represents cities across the metropolitan area in Clayton, Fulton, Dekalb, Henry and Gwinnett counties, including the cities of College Park, McDonough, Snellville, Lake City and Jonesboro, as well as the Clayton County Water Authority, the Housing Authority of Clayton County, the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, and the Clayton County Public Schools Ethics Commission.
"Specializing in local government law allows us to give our clients the benefit of having a firm that truly understands the ins and outs of local governmental law," said Winston Denmark. "Local governments are closely watched and heavily regulated, facing new and difficult challenges on a daily basis. We have been honored to represent many institutions over a great many years, yielding a width and breath of know-how that few firms can duplicate. We appreciate the opportunity of being able to serve Lithonia."

FDW Awards & Recognitions
The Clayton County Water Authority
recognized FDW for ten years of “outstanding legal service” as 2008
marked a decade of our being a
member of their team.
In May FDW was recognized by Clayton County Public Schools as for the volunteer work we do. We have been Partners in Education at Mt. Zion High School as well as their Community Graduation Coach for the past two years. We have also worked extensively with CCPS Work Based Learning Program.
At their 2007 Annual Banquet, the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce honored FDW as their Small Business of the Year. As part of the selection process, we were asked to explain why community involvement was important to us. We answered, “this is our home. If you are a good steward, you invest in your home. Our involvement in our community underscores the investment we are making, in both time and money.” That continues to be our ongoing commitment.

Steve:
I just wanted to send you a brief note to tell you how thoroughly impressed I was with how Mike Williams handled my closing. I have been to a number of closings and have never witnessed one so well thought out. Usually there are stacks of documents pushed in front of you and paper is flying all over the place. Mike's concept of creating stations around the conference table allowing me to walk from station to station while explaining each document was clearly the most organized and least time consuming closing I have ever taken part of. I have already told several friends about Mike and look forward to doing business with him and your firm in the future.
